“It has been 32 years since the Erasmus Mundus scholarship was established and is still providing funds for study in countries within the European Union. During the application process, students apply for both admission and the scholarship at the same time. The scholarship fully funds a student’s tuition and fare to the country and back. The Post graduate degrees take a shorter period of time to complete and graduate.”

This was revealed when an Alumnus of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship gave a testimonial during the opening ceremony.

Another alumnus revealed how the process is competitive and that he had to apply 3 times for him to be considered and each year only a small number of students manage to get the scholarship. He urged Kenyans to take advantage of the opportunity.

When giving his opening remarks, the UoN Vice Chancellor noted that the University has been keen on exposing its student and staff to the world through such platforms. He encouraged the UoN community to take advantage of the opportunity to further their studies. The VC was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng’o.

The EU ambassador to Kenya, Simon Mordue encouraged the staff and students to take advantage of the opportunities presented by Erasmus Scholarship. He emphasized on the need for faculty exchange and exposure to the different courses and the career opportunities presented after study.

Annette Gunter, Germany Ambassador to Kenya opened the fair and also challenged the students gathered to open up themselves to the new experiences presented by the European Union and especially the studies in Germany.

Sweden's Head of Mission, Michael Hjelmaker and  Ireland ambassador also spoke during the opening.

The Study Fair was at the Great Court from Thursday November 21- Friday, Nov 22, 2019.
